The Zenie Foundation is a private charitable foundation dedicated to educational support for deserving students who often are unable to access traditional means of financial aid. We seek highly motivated students who need additional financial support to access and benefit from available educational opportunities. Particularly, we are interested in students who are not eligible or have limited eligibility for aid through typical funding channels.
Scholarship awards are granted to recipients enrolled in or applying for education assistance at an accredited junior college, college or university as a full-time student.
Scholarship grants are available for direct educational expenses such as tuition, books or lab fees. Grants are not given for computers, software or personal living and travel expenses. Tuition assistance grants are paid directly to the educational institution. Approved reimbursable expenses, such as books, will be paid once the Foundation receives a detailed accounting with receipts from grantee. A grantee may be eligible for subsequent tuition grants once he/she submits a transcript for the prior period indicating passing grades in all coursework.
The criteria used in selecting recipients are (in no particular order):
demonstrated determination for education;
commitment to obtaining an undergraduate or graduate education.
Determination and commitment are measured by a student’s previous demonstrated efforts to obtain an education, including outside employment, educational loans, et cetera. The application letter should reflect thoughtful content outlining these efforts. This content is considered when trustees evaluate applicants.
Please email email@example.com should you have any questions.
The Zenie Foundation funding cycle is closed for 2012. We encourage students to submit 2013 applications beginning September 2012.
