The Zenie Foundation is a private charitable foundation dedicated to educational support
for deserving students who often are unable to access traditional means of financial aid.
We seek highly motivated students who need additional financial support to access and
benefit from available educational opportunities. We are interested particularly in
students who are not eligible or have limited eligibility for aid through typical channels.
Scholarship awards are granted to recipients enrolled in or applying for education
assistance at an accredited junior college, college or university.
Scholarship grants are available for direct educational expenses such as tuition, books or
lab fees. Grants are not given for computers, software or personal living and travel
expenses. Tuition assistance grants are paid directly to the educational institution. A
grantee may be eligible for additional tuition grants once he/she submits an acceptable
transcript for the prior period. Approved reimbursable expenses, such as books, will be
paid once the Foundation receives a detailed accounting with receipts from grantee.
The criteria used in selecting recipients are:
Determination and commitment are measured by a student’s previous demonstrated
efforts to obtain an education, including outside employment, educational loans, et
cetera. The application letter should reflect thoughtful content and communication skills.
